HOW IT IS ADDRESSED
During the Baseline and priority selection gating phase we deep-dive into the heart of the opportunity through a structured approach, marrying strategic insight and quantitative analysis and synthesis. This work will be carried out with a small group of selected personnel to provide the back and forth feedback between the consultant(s) and the organisation. During the Proof of Concept (POC) phase, the organization, operating mode and Ways of Working have to be agile, dynamic, and malleable:- Motivate the team members to give their most while at the same time they have to maintain their responsibilities in other domains;
- Allow phase-in and phase-out of participations and contributions from personnel, partners and customers through a robust and adaptable integration and coordination mechanism; and
- Facilitate a high rate of iterative prototyping as a means to move down the learning curve quickly
A safeguard against an early failure is to allocate a “due diligence” period to properly baseline and prioritise the opportunity (ies) .
During the Proof of Concept phase, however, when the organisation will be working with partners and customers, it is recommended to proceed as quickly as possible to :- Keep the development team’s motivation intact;
- Maintain the partners’ and test clients’ drive and interests; and
- Pre-empt any potential competitive copying..
